English Submission Guidelines
1. General
Belt and Road Medical (BRM) is an international, peer-reviewed, fully open-access journal. The journal publishes continuously: accepted manuscripts receive a DOI and are published online first, with 12 issues archived per year. These guidelines apply to manuscripts written in English, Chinese or Arabic. Please check every item before submission.
2. File and Page Format (Standard Layout)
Submit a single Word (.docx) file containing text, tables and figures. File name: 【first author – article type – title.docx】.
Page: A4; margins: 2.5 cm on all sides. Page numbers: centered at the bottom (Arabic numerals).
Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt for body text; headings bold. Line spacing: 1.5; alignment: justified; 0 pt before/after paragraphs.
Indentation: no first-line indent; leave one blank line between paragraphs. (See also the quick-reference table in Part 1.)
3. Manuscript Structure
The journal does not impose any limit on the length or word count of manuscripts; length should be determined by the content.
Title: concise and accurately reflecting the content. Authors: all authors with affiliations (institution, city, country) and the corresponding author's e-mail.
Abstract: structured (Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion). Keywords: 3–5.
Main text: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion (Conclusion for reviews).
Declarations: Acknowledgments, Funding, Conflict of Interest, Ethics Approval.
4. References (Vancouver Style)
Cite references in order of first appearance with numbers in square brackets, e.g., [1]; list them at the end of the manuscript in numerical order, matching the in-text numbers.
Journal article: Author AA, Author BB. Title of article. Journal Abbrev. Year;Vol(Issue):Pages. Book: Author. Title of book. Edition. Place: Publisher; Year. Website: Author or Institution. Title [Internet]. Date published [cited YYYY MMM DD]. Available from: URL.
If there are more than three authors, list the first three followed by "et al."
5. Figures and Tables
Tables: create with the Word table function (not with spaces or tabs); table titles above tables.
Figures: resolution no less than 300 dpi; TIFF, JPEG or PNG; figure legends below figures; all lettering legible.
Captions should be in the language of the manuscript.
6. Numbers, Units and Statistics
Use SI units and Arabic numerals.
Report the statistical methods, sample size, test statistics and P values; express mean and standard deviation as mean ± SD (e.g., 25.4 ± 3.2).
7. Declarations and Academic Integrity
Originality: the manuscript must be original, not published elsewhere and not submitted to more than one journal.
Ethics: studies involving human subjects require an ethics approval or informed consent statement; animal studies must state compliance with relevant ethical requirements.
Conflict of interest: authors must declare any conflicts of interest.
Open access: accepted articles are published open access; the specific license terms are as announced by the journal.
8. Submission
Submission Website: https://brm.jams.pub. Click the "SUBMIT ARTICLE" button in the top-right corner of the website, register an account, and submit your manuscript.
Upon receipt of your manuscript, the editorial office will automatically send an e-mail to confirm reception and arrange peer review. Accepted manuscripts will be assigned a DOI and published online.
9. Pre-submission Checklist
① .docx file formatted as required (page, font, spacing); ② title, authors, affiliations and corresponding e-mail complete; ③ abstract and keywords complete; ④ reference numbers in the text match the reference list; ⑤ figures/tables and captions complete and legible; ⑥ ethics, conflict-of-interest and funding statements provided; ⑦ not submitted elsewhere.
